The Penthouse at One57 Just Sold for $90 Million

IMG 3926 500x333 The Penthouse at One57 Just Sold for $90 Million

One57 view from Central Park, New York City

It was a mystery buyer who purchased the penthouse apartment at One57 who declined to be named or give his country of origin.  However the president of Extell Development Company described him as having a “very nice family” and someone that people would recognize.  The new development located at 157 West 57th Street will soon to be Manhattan’s tallest residential building and offering the most magnificent view of Central Park ever to be seen from a residence.

The penthouse sold for $90 Million setting a new record for the largest residential sale in New York City.  Just earlier this year the Russian fertilizer billionaire, Dmitry Rybolobelev broke the previous record by purchasing a penthouse apartment at 15 Central Park West for his daughter Katerina at $88 million.

I recently went down to Central Park to take these photos of One57:

Manhattans Amazing and Beautiful Landscape1 500x279 The Most Fascinating 4 Minute Video of Manhattan Landscape Ever!

Amazing Cinematography of Manhattan's One of a Kind Landscape

This is by far the most fascinating video I’ve ever seen of Manhattan’s landscape — almost appearing to be unreal at times.  See how many places YOU recognize.  This artistically filmed video shows virtually every area of Manhattan moving at fast speeds, while the camera position is slowly moving cross the scene giving it a surreal feeling. It’s amazing folks! have a look for yourself.

Just this past week, One Word Trade Center surpassed the Empire State Building to become the tallest building in Manhattan. And after 10 plus years of construction a time-lapse video has been released to capture those years of construction. What an amazing structure this has become.

The Horizon building located in Murray Hill, view of the East River

I recently had a client who was looking for apartments in the Murray Hill /Kips Bay neighborhoods of Manhattan.  There are several full service buildings in this area that offer spectacular views.

Some of the more popular buildings are:

  • The Horizon, 415 East 37th Street (spectacular views of the Queens borough bridge and East River from it’s swimming pool. Probably the nicest building in this neighborhood)
  • The Biltmore, 155 East 29st Street
  • Murray Hill Manor, 166 East 34th Street (centrally located and offered excellent views from it’s rooftop deck)
  • The Corinthian, 330 East 38th Street (nice bay windows)
  • Windsor Court, 155 East 31st Street  (impressive lobby)

If you live in New York City and you didn’t get outside to enjoy this amazing weather – you really missed out!  I had to grab my camera and take a walk through the neighborhood and decided to walk through the East Village neighborhood to snap some photos of the sights that I found most interesting.   Here is a gallery of just a few of my favorite buildings, including the famous building  on St. Mark’s Place that was featured on the Led Zeppelin album Physical Graffiti.
