Elizabeth Street – NoLita
Elizabeth Street is one of NoLita’s most charming streets with plenty of interesting shops, apartments and restaurants. It also has a rich Italian-American history. In Nolita, Elizabeth Street stretches just .3 miles from Kenmare Street (on the south) to Bleeker Street (on the north).
Like many other streets in this area, Elizabeth Street adds to New York Italian-American history dating back to the 1800′s and is considered to be part of Little Italy. Martin Scorcese grew up on Elizabeth Street where his parents owned an apartment between Prince and Houston Street.
